The simple rhyming couplets in this book are great for practicing phonological awareness and the descriptions and simple plot are good examples of narrative skills.

The nearly one to one text-image ratio is good for print awareness, and the different descriptions as "orange, pear, apple, bear" are mixed up are a very basic demonstration of narrative skills. Also it's a very cute book. :)

This book is great for print motivation, especially for toddlers because you can shout along! Since it also includes the alphabet it's also good for letter knowledge.
