This booklist was created from recommendations by Prithi Kanakamedala, Associate Professor of History at Bronx Community College. She served as curator and historian for Brooklyn Abolitionists In Pursuit of Freedom, on display from 2014 to 2018 at the former Brooklyn Historical Society, which is now a part of the Library and known as the Center for Brooklyn History.
