Baby/Toddler Storytime @ Milliken Mills, Nov 2nd, 2011: Vocabulary / I Know Words!

Books used (or recommended) for Baby and Toddler Storytime emphasizing vocabulary. It's been shown that a big (enormous, extensive) vocabulary is very beneficial in the process of learning to read. The more words children know, the more easily they will be able to recognize them when they begin the process of decoding letters. A large vocabulary will also facilitate reading comprehension even later on in life. The best way we can do this is to talk to children all the time. We can also use books to introduce words we don't use everyday. Here are some examples!
